Phoenix Equity Partners ("Phoenix") is pleased to announce that Chris Braithwaite has been appointed as Chairman of Signum Technology Ltd ("Signum").
Chris Braithwaites career has included over thirty years in project management, engineering and manufacturing businesses. Most recently, he was Chief Operating Officer of Wellstream, the provider of flexible flow lines to the offshore oil and gas industry, both before and after its flotation in 2007. His other present roles include Chairman of Ashtead Technology (also a Phoenix investment), and trustee of Young Enterprise, the United Kingdoms largest business and enterprise education charity.
Phoenix is backing Signums CEO Phil Clifton and the wider management team to create, via buy-and-build, a coherent group of niche flow control products and services businesses supplying energy and industrial markets. Signums first acquisition was Gall Thomson Environmental ("GTE"), which was acquired from building products group Lupus Capital plc in March 2012. GTE is a leading supplier of safety couplings to the offshore oil and gas production market, as well as to chemical and other industrial markets.
Chris Braithwaite said: " I look forward to helping drive the business forward to the next stage of its development. The global demand for energy, and increasingly stringent environmental regulations provide extremely strong growth drivers for GTE and for Signum."
John Rastrick, a Partner of Phoenix Equity Partners and director of Signum, commented: "Chris appointment as Chairman is great news for Signum Technology and for Phoenix as his wealth of experience in the offshore oil and gas industry will add greatly to the business as it continues to grow."
