Palletways, the UK’s largest and fastest growing express palletised freight network, has scooped the Road Freight accolade at this year’s Global Freight Industry awards for its customer service standards at home and across Europe.
The award was presented to Rachael Alpha, Managing Director at Palletways GmbH, by television presenter Nick Hewer.
Palletways Europe won the Road Freight Award for its unique pan-European services, based on the quality of customer service, environmental consciousness and for the way that Palletways Europe GmbH has grown and developed its services throughout Europe. The win was in response to the launch of Palletways regional hubs, which are specifically designed to reduce network road mileage, speed up delivery and reduce unnecessary impact on the environment, whilst reducing costs for customers and members alike.
Palletways, which handles around 33,000 pallets across Europe per day, was also acknowledged for its excellence in innovation, having been nominated for the ‘HPH Innovation Award’. The company was also short-listed in the ‘Customer Care Award’ for their outstanding operational performance and their continuous commitment to providing high levels of service to their customers.
The Global Freight Awards reward best practice in freight and logistics and honours individuals and companies who have achieved high standards in the industry during the past year.
James Wilson, Palletways Group Chief Executive, said: “Encouraging innovation is one of our core values and we are particularly pleased to win this award. It is a great honour to be recognised by the logistics industry. This award demonstrates the hard work that the team has put in to improving the efficiency and excellence of the network. We pride ourselves on our high standards of customer services, not only providing customers with express delivery across Europe, but also giving them the relevant information to track their shipment and guarantee its safety to ensure it arrives on time and in perfect condition.”
Palletways owes its success at this year’s Global Freight Awards to what the judges described as “a very strong all-around focus on customer service" and "its very comprehensive approach to customer care.”
The panel also praised Palletways for investing in service improvements and its innovative use of technology. Positive testimonials from some of its largest customers also highlighted the value it places on customer care. The Global Freight Award wins follow Palletways’ recent success at the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport Awards where the firm was recognised for its Operational Excellence.
