Just Childcare secures substantial further funding to fuel its continued expansion

Just Childcare Limited (“Just Childcare”), an owner and operator of nurseries across England, announced that it has secured a substantial finance package of over £50 million. The funding will be provided by Ares and RBS and will support Just Childcare’s ongoing buy & build strategy.

The new funding package comes after the completion of Just Childcare’s most recent acquisitions – Jack & Jill Nurseries and Pre-School in the Wirral, and the St Mary’s and Small World nurseries in South Yorkshire joined the Just Childcare group in August. The two acquisitions added six new settings to the group which now totals 59 settings and represents nearly 4,500 nursery places across Yorkshire, the North-West and South-West.

These developments mark the latest stage of Just Childcare’s partnership with Phoenix Equity Partners, which has supported the company through its buy & build strategy since November 2014.

David Johnson, CEO of Just Childcare, commented: “We are really pleased to have secured this new financing package to further fuel our growth plans. We are extremely excited about the prospect of bringing Just Childcare’s quality of care to more and more children across the country and we welcome the Jack & Jill, St Mary’s and Small World settings into the Just Childcare family”.

Barry Robinson, Partner at Phoenix, said: “We are delighted with the progress that David and team continue to make at Just Childcare. With this significant financing package agreed, we are well placed to continue building the business into one the leading nursery groups in the UK.”
